One Kidney.

UPDATE March 8, 2026: A MATCH WAS FOUND! Thank you to all who have support Avery through this journey. Please continue to share this story and consider living donation for others like her in need.
Hi, I’m Avery. In 2019, what started as a stubborn cold led to a diagnosis that changed everything—Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease. Despite surgery and years of careful management, my kidneys have continued to decline, and today I’m living with Stage 5 CKD, also known as kidney failure. My kidneys function at less than 15 percent, which means fatigue, nausea, and countless appointments are part of my everyday life.
But I refuse to let this illness define me. I keep showing up—with resilience, humor, and defiance—because my story isn’t just about kidney disease. It’s about hope, strength, and the future I’m determined to claim.
By sharing Avery’s story and this website with your network, you help raise awareness about kidney disease and increase the chances of reaching someone who may consider becoming a living kidney donor. Awareness truly saves lives, and every share helps this story reach the people who need to see it.

Most people are born with two kidneys, but only need one to live a healthy, active life. That’s why living kidney donation is possible. A healthy person can donate one kidney to someone in need, giving them a second chance at life. The process includes thorough medical screening, and donors typically go on to live full, vibrant lives. It’s an extraordinary way to make a lasting impact.
