Course Description:

This course provides a wide ranging survey of conceptual foundations and issues in contemporary human rights. The class examines the origins of human rights, debates contemporary issues, examines key human rights documents, and assesses the progress of human rights enforcement. Students will examine specific civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights around the world and discuss the status of universal application.
