The National Cadet Corps is Youth Wing of Armed Forces with its Headquarters at New Delhi, India. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis. National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Wing, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, colleges and universities all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. 

The Incentives provided to NCC cadets in a structured manner for different branches:


Combined Defense Services (CDS) Examination:

NCC 'C' Certificate holders with a minimum of 'B' grade are exempted from the written examination conducted by UPSC for CDS.

32 vacancies per year are reserved for NCC 'C' Certificate holders in the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), and Air Force Academy (AFA) through CDS Examination.


Army:

Officers : NCC “C” Certificate holders with minimum ‘B’ grade are exempted from appearing in the

written examination conducted by UPSC. 

Total vacancies: 100 per year – OTA Chennai: 64 per year – IMA, Dehradun.

Soldiers:

5% Bonus marks for NCC ‘B’ Certificate holders.

NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders are exempted from the written examination.


Navy:

Officers: NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders who have passed B.Sc (Physics & Maths) or BE are exempted

from appearing in the written examination conducted by UPSC. Total vacancies: 12 per year.

Soldiers:

Additional marks: 22 for ‘A’ Certificate, 44 for ‘B’ Certificate, and 66 for ‘C’ Certificate.


Air Force:

Officers:

Pilots: 10% reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders exempted from appearing in the written

examination conducted by UPSC.

Other branches: 10% reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders exempted from appearing in the

written examination.

Airmen:

Additional marks:

‘C’ Certificate: 5 Marks.

‘B’ Certificate: 4 Marks.

‘A’ Certificate: 3 Marks.


Border Security Force (BSF):

Officers & Constables:

‘C’ Certificate: 10 Marks.

‘B’ Certificate: 6 Marks.

‘A’ Certificate: 4 Marks.


Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF):

Company Commander, Quarter Master, DSP:

Eligibility: II Class Bachelor Degree Holder.

Exemption: NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ Certificate holder.

Having III Class Degree also eligible.


Central Industrial Security Force (CISF):

Constables:

‘C’ Certificate: 3 Marks.

‘B’ Certificate: 1 Mark.


Coast Guard:

Officers & Enrolled Personnel:

‘C’ Certificate: 15 Marks.

‘B’ Certificate: 10 Marks.

‘A’ Certificate: 5 Marks.


Ministry of Communications Department of Telecommunication:

Technicians (MEN):

‘C’ Certificate: 10 Marks.

‘B’ Certificate: 7 Marks.

Telephone Operator & Telegraphist:

‘C’ Certificate: 10 Marks.

‘B’ Certificate: 7 Marks.
