Via Finestrale, 2 - 80071 Anacapri (NA) - Italy
Villa Orlandi in Anacapri links the districts of Timpone and Le Boffe and is a significant example of traditional Capri domestic architecture. Its original core dates to the early 18th century, in the same period as the rebuilding near the Church of San Michele (1719–20). Before that, the site likely contained cisterns and rural structures connected to the Teresian nuns. In 1848 the Orlandi family bought the “country villa,” which was later expanded. Among its owners were the politician Giuseppe Orlandi and, later, Edwin Cerio, who renovated the house in the 1930s. Elements attributable to the 18th-century phase include the large basement cistern and rooms covered by mirror vaults. The building has two floors and two gardens, one larger and older at ground level and another on the upper floor. The main entrance is from the upper level, reached through an avenue with a rustic colonnaded pergola. A second, lower entrance leads through the kitchen garden and reflects the house’s earlier agricultural function. Despite its current use as a university congress center, the spatial layout has remained unchanged. The pergola gives the house a monumental character and preserves the island’s building traditions. Inside, the alignment of rooms frames long views toward the landscape and the sea. The first floor opens onto a terrace running along the façade, offering broad sea-facing vistas. Cerio introduced refined solutions, including compact rooms carefully fitted into limited space. A small study and sculptural chimney stacks complete the most distinctive parts of the 1930s redesign.

How to get to Anacapri
Public Buses
Public buses on Capri are minibuses that carry about 10 passengers seated, as large buses would not be able to
navigate the narrow island lanes! In the summer, they are usually crowded and there are often long lines at the bus stops, though the routes run more frequently.
Taxi
The quickest way to get from Capri dock to Anacapri is by taxi. They carry up to seven passengers and are often open-top. If you are travelling with a small group, you will find that hiring a taxi is not more expensive than catching the public bus.
