MAGIC WAND Plus Review

This body-massager-turned-sex-tool was born in 1968 and has gone through multiple iterations since then. In 2013 the original brand name has dropped from the Magic Wand, and via Hitachi still makes all Magic Wands, the massager was rebranded as the Magic Wand Original and is distributed now by Vibratex.

The Magic Wand Plus is simply the latest iteration of the powerhouse sex to that has been known through the years as the Hitachi vibrating wand. It’s basically a hand-held vibrator, measuring about a foot in length, with the active vibrating head being about the size of a golf ball.

The Magic Wand Plus is nearly identical in appearance to the Rechargeable Magic Wand. It has a white plastic body, blue silicone buttons, and a silicone head. Put them side by side and I’d have to look very closely to tell the difference between the two. Compared to the Original Magic Wand, however, it’s an obvious upgrade from the older model.

The Magic Wand Plus + has all of the appeal of the more expensive Rechargeable Magic Wand’s main design, including the silicone head, at a lower cost. It also features multi-speed control (with four speeds instead of the original’s two) and a removable cord for easy storage. Please note that although the cord is removable, this toy is a corded wand, meaning it requires an outlet to work.

The Magic Wand Plus + has made this a thing of the past, coming with a power adapter that will work just fine either with 100V – 240Voltage power outlets. You won’t be stopped from traveling to your heart’s content on this account.

Main Features

The Magic Wand Plus’s modernizing features makes this wand not only more convenient and more user-friendly, but more stylish and more powerful. The wand head and buttons are made of body-safe silicone that is non-porous, easy to clean, and easy to sanitize with a wet wipe or damp washcloth with some mild soap. The silicone on the head of the wand is soft and slightly squishy. This wand is not waterproof by any means, so do not get it wet. I mentioned earlier that the cord is detachable, but what I didn’t mention was that when the cord is connected to the wand, it snaps into place and will not budge until you press the release button on the bottom next to where the cord is connected. This feature is pretty cool because you don’t have to worry about the cord suddenly coming out of place when using it.

The Magic Wand Plus has a standard design that allows you to choose between four different vibration speeds or intensities. From 2,700, 3,800, 5,400 to 6,300 vibrations per minute. In the past models of the vibrator, there were only two-speed options, which greatly limited what could be done with the sex toy.

Aside from these settings, the different vibe speeds are configured to deliver different vibration patterns, meaning that you will not be limited to different speeds of the same old rumble – you can change things up according to your mood or preferences.

Some other features I like are the haptic feedback that I get from pressing the buttons. They make this satisfying “click” sound with every press. A 3-button operation makes with wand easy to use, and I love – I mean LOVE the power button on the Magic Wand Plus. No pressing and holding for 2-3 seconds while waiting for it to turn on and off. This feature is ideal for those who don’t live alone because if someones suddenly come home unannounced, you just press the power button, and it instantly turns off. On the flipside, if you need to get off quickly, you just press that power button, and you’re good to go.

As usual, the Magic Wand Plus is compatible with almost all types of third-party accessories, which surely can level up your sex play to a new level. Put on a cover to make it into a G-spot vibrator, an anal vibrator, a nipple sucker or even a sex pillow.

Cleaning Tips

To sanitize the body-safe silicone head especially, as well as the ABS plastic in the body, it’s good to rub the surface down with a 10% bleach solution or with 70% isopropyl alcohol, and then cleanse with soap and water.This toy is NOT waterproof or splash-proof, so, don’t submerge it under the water or use it while bathing.

A lot of women like to use a bit lubricant to make the clit stimulation, please only use water-based lubricants as the head is made of silicone. Silicone material can be damaged by other types of lube.

Lint-free, Wipes or cloths are safest. I’ve run a small stream of water over the head while scrubbing it, but be careful with this because, again, water running down into the neck area could damage the motor.

Overall Thoughts

The Magic Wand Plus + isn't disappointing at all: it’s quieter than the Original and just as strong. I love that it’s cordless and I love the sleeker control interface. I can’t recommend the Magic Wand Plus enough. Once again, Vibratex took an already great sex toy and made it more powerful, functional, and better looking.

Hitachi had hit on a magic formula when it came up with its vibrating massager all those years ago, and the Magic Wand Plus has simply taken it up to new heights.
