I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor in Public Health at Pacific University where I teach Epidemiology and Human Health & Disease.
My research focuses on three key areas to advance the science of eliminating inequalities in aging, dying, and death, by: 1) Improving death education on a wide scale, 2) Addressing health outcomes across the lifespan and 3) Engaging in interdisciplinary and collaborative social science research, utilizing my unique training as a gerontologist and prevention scientist.
In my teaching, I utilize my life experiences to foster an engaging classroom environment that focuses on passion and authenticity, belonging and inclusivity, and understanding and support.
