This project is currently under construction.
Based on the Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV), or simply the Lunar Rover, was a battery-powered vehicle used by NASA astronauts to explore the Moon during the later Apollo missions. Developed by NASA, Boeing, and Delco Electronics, the rover allowed astronauts to travel farther, carry more tools, and collect more Moon rocks than ever before.
It was first used on the Apollo 15 mission in 1971, and then again on Apollo 16 and Apollo 17. These missions showed how useful a rover could be for space exploration, with Apollo 17 covering over 35 km on the Moon’s surface.
