This Privacy Policy describes how the Auto Call Recorder application ("we", "our", or "the App") collects, uses, protects, and handles your information when you use our services. We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected and strictly comply with the Google Play Developer Program Policies.
1. Information Collection and Use
Our app is designed with a privacy-first approach. We DO NOT upload, share, or sell your personal call recordings or contact data to any external servers or third parties. All call recordings are processed and stored locally on your device.
To provide our core features, the App requires specific Android permissions. Below is a complete declaration of the permissions we request and exactly how they are used:
A. Core Telephony & Audio Permissions
RECORD_AUDIO (Microphone): Required to capture audio during a phone call for recording purposes.
READ_PHONE_STATE: Required to detect incoming and outgoing calls, determine the call state (ringing, off-hook, idle), and start/stop the recording automatically.
READ_CALL_LOG & CALL_PHONE: Required to identify the phone number of the active call so that recordings can be saved with the correct caller identity.
MANAGE_OWN_CALLS & Default Dialer Role: Required to provide an integrated in-call UI experience and seamlessly record calls by operating as your default phone handler.
B. Contact Permissions
READ_CONTACTS & WRITE_CONTACTS: Required to match the recorded phone numbers with your saved contacts, displaying names instead of unknown numbers within the App. This data never leaves your device.
C. Storage Permissions
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE & WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Required to save, organize, playback, and manage the audio files (recordings) on your device's local storage.
D. System & Background Permissions
FOREGROUND_SERVICE (Microphone & Phone Call): Required by Android system policies to actively record audio in the background while you are on a call. This ensures the app is not killed by the system during long conversations. You will always see a persistent notification when a background service is active.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required to display active recording statuses and missed call alerts.
2. Default Phone Handler (Dialer)
To ensure reliable call recording and management on modern Android versions, our App may request to become your Default Dialer. We use this capability strictly to manage your calls and record audio. We do not use this access to monitor your general phone usage or collect unassociated data.
3. Third-Party Services
While we do not collect your personal data on our servers, we use trusted third-party services for app monetization, analytics, and stability. These services may collect device identifiers and usage data according to their respective privacy policies:
Google AdMob: We use AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may use advertising IDs to serve personalized ads based on your interests.
Firebase Analytics: Used to collect anonymous usage data to help us understand how users interact with the app.
Firebase Crashlytics: Used to collect crash reports to help us identify and fix bugs, improving app stability.

4. Security
We value your trust in providing us with your personal information, thus we strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. However, remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Since all recordings are saved locally, the physical security of your device is your responsibility.
5. Children’s Privacy
Our App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.
