Download AutoCAD from the official Autodesk website.
Install the software following on-screen instructions.
Activate using a license or student version (for free access).
Menu Bar and Ribbon: Contains all commands and tools.
Command Line: For typing and executing commands.
Drawing Area: Main workspace to create drawings.
Tool Palettes and Properties Panel: Quick access to tools and object settings.
LINE (L): Draw straight lines.
CIRCLE (C): Draw circles.
RECTANGLE (REC): Draw rectangles.
TRIM (TR): Trim unwanted parts.
EXTEND (EX): Extend lines to meet other lines.
MOVE (M): Move objects.
COPY (CO): Copy objects.
OFFSET (O): Create parallel copies.
DIM (D): Add dimensions.
HATCH (H): Fill areas with patterns.
Open a new drawing: File → New
Set units: UNITS command → Set to mm, cm, or inches.
Start drawing basic shapes: Lines, Circles, Rectangles.
Add dimensions using DIM command.
Save the file: File → Save As.
Erase, Move, Copy, Rotate, Mirror, Scale.
Use Object Snap (OSNAP) for precision (endpoints, midpoints, intersections).
Learn Layers (LA) for organizing drawings (walls, furniture, electrical, etc.).
Add Text (TEXT) for notes.
Add Leaders and Callouts for explanations.
Apply Hatch (H) to indicate materials.
Extrude (EXT) 2D shapes to 3D objects.
Revolve (REV) to create round solids.
Union, Subtract, Intersect to combine or cut shapes.
Use Layout Tabs for print preparation.
Set Page Setup (size, scale).
Plot/Print to PDF or printer.
