Privacy Policy for Auto UPI QR
Effective Date: April 6, 2026
1. Introduction Auto UPI QR ("the App") is developed as a utility tool to extract UPI IDs from QR code images and pass them to standard UPI payment applications. We are deeply committed to your privacy and security. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding your data.
2. Zero Data Collection & Offline Processing The App operates entirely locally on your device.
No Internet Required: The App does not request, require, or possess internet permissions.
100% Local Processing: All image scanning and QR code extraction is performed locally on your device using on-device machine learning (Google ML Kit).
No Data Transmission: We do not collect, transmit, upload, or share any of your images, UPI IDs, payment details, or personal information to any external servers or third parties.
3. Permissions Explained To function, the App requests access to your device's storage or media (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES or similar, depending on your Android version). This permission is used strictly to allow you to select a photo from your gallery so the App can scan it for a QR code. The App does not silently access or modify your files.
4. Data Retention The App does not store your scanned images or transaction history. Extracted UPI IDs may be temporarily placed on your device's local clipboard for your convenience, which is controlled by your Android operating system.
5. Changes to This Policy If we update this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this document.
Legal Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability
Please read carefully before using Auto UPI QR.
1. Not a Payment Application Auto UPI QR is strictly a utility tool designed to read QR codes and extract text (specifically, UPI IDs). It is not a UPI app, a bank, a mobile wallet, or a financial service.
2. No Payment Processing The App does not process, initiate, or handle any monetary transactions. It merely extracts the UPI ID from an image and acts as a bridge to open your device's installed and supported payment applications (such as GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, etc.). All transactions are handled securely by your chosen third-party payment app.
3. Data Integrity & Modification The App reads the embedded data within a QR code image as it is presented. It does not alter, modify, or verify the authenticity of the extracted UPI ID or the intended recipient.
4. User Responsibility: VERIFY BEFORE YOU PAY Because image quality, lighting, or corrupted QR codes can occasionally result in misread data, it is entirely your responsibility to verify the recipient's Name, UPI ID, and Payment Amount inside your actual payment app before entering your UPI PIN. 5. Limitation of Liability By using this App, you acknowledge and agree that the developer of Auto UPI QR shall not be held liable or responsible for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to:
Financial or monetary loss due to transferring funds to the wrong UPI ID.
Misread, corrupted, or inaccurate extraction of data from a QR code.
Bugs, glitches, or failures within the App or the third-party payment apps it triggers.
You use Auto UPI QR entirely at your own risk. Always double-check the recipient details on your payment screen before completing a transaction.
*** How to use this:
For Google Play: You need a URL for the Privacy Policy. Paste the Privacy Policy section into a free Google Doc (set to "Anyone with the link can view") or a free Google Sites page, and submit that link in the Play Console.
For the App: Add a small "Disclaimer" text link at the bottom of your app's main screen or inside your onboarding bottom sheet that displays the Disclaimer section when clicked.
