Spendra ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the Spendra mobile application (the "App").

Spendra is designed as a local-first app. The vast majority of your financial data is processed and stored locally on your device and never sent to our servers.

1. Information Collection and Use

A. Locally Processed and Stored Data (On-Device Only)

The following information is accessed by the App but remains entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or shared with any third party:

• SMS Messages: With your explicit permission, the App reads incoming SMS messages to detect transaction notifications from your bank or card providers. This data is parsed in real-time, strictly on-device, to automatically record transaction details (amounts, account identifiers, and types) under the "Misc" category. No SMS content is ever uploaded, shared, or sent off your device.

• Financial and Account Records: Any accounts, transactions, balances, and category information you log manually or via SMS sync are saved locally on your device using SQLite database storage and AsyncStorage.

• Biometric Preferences: If you enable App Lock, authentication is handled entirely by your device’s secure system API (using Google/Android biometric prompts). The App never sees or collects your fingerprint or face scan data.

B. Data Collected by Third-Party Services (Google AdMob)

To display advertisements, the App integrates the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob). AdMob may collect and share certain data off the device for advertising personalization, frequency capping, and analytics.

This data includes:

• Device Identifiers: Advertising ID (e.g., Google Advertising ID / AAID) and other device tokens.

• App Interactions: Interactions with advertisements (such as impressions, clicks, and views).

• Diagnostics & Performance: Crash logs, load times, and performance analytics.

2. Permissions Required

To provide its core functionality, the App may request access to:

• SMS Permission (READ_SMS / RECEIVE_SMS): Required to automatically detect and import bank transaction notifications. You can disable this in the App settings at any time.

• Biometric/Local Authentication: Required to lock the App with your fingerprint or face recognition.

3. Data Security

Because Spendra stores your financial records locally on your device, the security of your data depends on your device’s security. We recommend securing your device with a PIN/Password and enabling the built-in App Lock feature in Spendra.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Since all user data is stored locally, we do not retain your personal data on any servers. If you wish to delete your financial records, you can do so by:

1. Clearing the App's storage/cache in your Android device settings.

2. Uninstalling the App from your device.

Once uninstalled or cleared, all your local data is permanently deleted.

5. Children’s Privacy

Our App does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can perform necessary actions.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
