Sally is a small town girl, a fine young woman and daughter of the local sheriff. She would be walking down the sidewalk, heading home after a good day of work at the Digger’s Diner. It is 1953, after all. She walks down the sidewalk, until she sees something in an alleyway. There sat an odd man with an odd head, sitting on a moped, breathing like he was exhausted. Sally walks over with a look of concern, careful in her approach.
“Hi,” She states in a cheery tone.
The stranger though… “OH SWEET LORD JESUS FU-... Oh… Oh god you scared me.” Sally was shocked, going to him and showing she meant no harm. “What’s wrong sir? Why are you hiding here?” She asks.
The Stranger looks at her. “Well, I’m on the radar of the two biker gangs. The Suits and The Beasts. They are after me, and I need to get going.” Sally nods and responds “Oh, you mean with you mo-”
“NO!”
“Wait,
“No-no-no, that moped isn't souped up to ungodly hell yet works like a charm, it’s barely holding itself together.”
Sally responds with disbelief as the sound of motors close in “The paint is brand new…”
The stranger hops on the moped, looking back at her. “I-I’m sorry you were here.” He rides off quickly as behind Sally, motorcycles come in and park close to her. Men with marks on each of them come in, each one with a card and suit. 5 & 4 of hearts, 10 of clubs, and Jack of spades. Jack approaches the diner gal, a sense of confidence and suave that scares her. “Heya doll,” He speaks calmly, attempting to charm her, “I don't think you’ve seen a blue moped speeding by have you?”
Sally shivered, stepping back one step “N-No sir, I was just heading home.”
Jack raised an eyebrow, looking at her with curious and lustful eyes. “Oh? Well, this isn’t a safe place for a dame like you, eh?”
Sally looked at him with a nervous smile, “I-I was just trying to get home a little quicker, y’know?”
Jack nods before using one hand to pin her against a wall, while his other hand whipped out a switchblade. “You’re going to tell me where that moped went, or you're going home with that pretty little face scarred up… or maybe…” Jack looks down at her bosom, thoughts already going through Sally’s head about what he might do.
Before anyone could act, a lead pipe flew out, and hit the jack of spades out cold, blood on the pipe and on Jack’s head. Another stranger, a red cat with green eyes, steps in, holding throwing knives. The other bikers step back a bit as the feline looks over them.
“If y'all don't get your fella and step back, reckon we're gonna have some bigger issues. And, just so ya know, I'll keep chuckin' things 'til them problems are gone”, The cat states, holding up the knives. The other bikers grab their leader and begin to drag him off.
Sally is star-struck, butterflies in her stomach, her heart beating out of her chest. She blushes as he goes over to her, she winces in fear as he puts a shoulder on her.
“You doin' alright, ma'am?” he asks.
Sally is stunned, and struggles to speak for a moment before she sputters out a “Y-Yeah…”
The cat smiles, dusting her off and holding out a hand. “It's alright ma'am'. I'll be right here for ya. C'mon, let's get ya' on back home”
Sally walks with him a bit. “Wh-Who are you m-mister?” She asks, now flustered as she follows him.
He turns to her and gives a smile before she joins him on his bike. “ Name’s Maverick Leon, but you can just call me Mav. Don't you worry none, miss…
She answers his question “Sally, Sally
He smirks before focusing “Sheriff's daughter? Well, reckon that might help smooth things over with the law. Best be headin' back home now, things could get uglier if we stick around.”
He begins to ride off with Sally, helping her get home, and maybe even making the town a little better.
