ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Manas Kumar Deb is an Indian author and a professional 3D Animation artist whose creative journey has been shaped by years of working with animated stories, characters, and worlds created for audiences across different cultures.

Working in the world of animation has given him the opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of international productions and storytelling styles, including The Little Prince from France and its international production partners, The Jungle Book from India, Germany and France, Netflix's Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia from the United States, LEGO DREAMZzz from Denmark, Little Nicholas (Le Petit Nicolas) from France, Disney's Eureka! from the United States and Ireland, Marnie's World from Germany and its international co-production partners, and Duda & Dada, an Indian-South Korean production. 

Being surrounded by different forms of animated storytelling has profoundly influenced the way he thinks about stories. From designing characters and visual worlds to understanding how emotion, humour, suspense, adventure and imagination can communicate across cultures, animation has taught him to look at a story not only as a sequence of events, but as a living world.

That experience naturally found its way into his writing.

His novel The Darkness Between Us explores psychological horror, supernatural mystery, suspense and the complicated nature of human relationships. Beneath its darkness lies an interest in the human mind—its fears, memories, attachments and the things we struggle to understand about ourselves.

His poetry eBook, रा’श - मोहब्बत के बिखरे हुए जज़्बात, moves in an entirely different direction, exploring love, longing, separation, vulnerability and the emotions left behind by an incomplete relationship. It represents the quieter and more intimate side of his imagination.

At the same time, his work-in-progress The Legend of Prak allows him to venture into a much larger canvas: an original science-fiction universe of distant planets, extraordinary civilizations, powerful characters and worlds built from imagination, science and mythology.

Across horror, romance, poetry, fantasy and science fiction, Manas' work is connected by one fundamental belief: a good story should create a world that the reader can feel, not merely see.

His professional life in 3D animation continues to influence that philosophy. Years of experiencing stories being imagined, designed, animated and brought to life have taught him to think visually, build worlds with purpose, and treat every character as more than a name on a page.

As an author, he now brings that visual imagination into literature—creating stories that attempt to cross the boundary between what is seen, what is felt, and what might exist beyond our understanding.
