Film and Theatre Student
Hello, welcome to my page! My name is Lily B. Garcia and I am 21 years old. I was born on September 22nd in Chesapeake, Virginia. I grew up in Norfolk, Virginia with my mom, dad, and brother. I have always had a passion for writing. When I was younger, I would constantly write anything and everything. In fact, in Elementary School I would always carry around a pink notebook with a blue spine, and whenever I could, I would write a new short story in it. Recess, lunch, gym, I would be writing in that pink notebook; I wish I still had it.
During my last year of middle school, my family moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia and I ended up attending Salem High School- a Visual and Performing Arts Academy. There, I joined my first theatre class to help overcome my fear of public speaking, and it ultimately sparked a new passion.
I joined my school's film club, which led to me writing and directing my first film, Paper Airplanes. My group and I submitted it to the Proteus Film Festival in Virginia Beach, and we ended up winning first place. I also joined our school's newspaper staff, and soon became Copy Editor.
Now, I am a Junior at Old Dominion University located in Norfolk. I am majoring in Cinema and TV Production and minoring in Theatre. This website serves as an online portfolio- to showcase various projects I have undertaken over the years. I have been passionate about Visual and Performing Arts since my Freshman year of High School; and have been pursuing it ever since. I believe creative storytelling is incredible, and I aspire to be part of the talented and creative community that brings these stories to life.
