RULES

Participant Standards

  1. Participants must be 18+.
  2. No bullying, racism, sexism or harassment. Show respect to fellow contestants, hosts and producers or observers.
  3. PG Rating. No discussions on drug use, violence, or sexual content. No swearing.
  4. Contestants must have access to a smart phone, internet enabled with the ability to download apps and a camera to take photos, screenshots and video.
  5. This game is a social game with equivalent time frames to the show. It will be ongoing for around 50 days on some occasions.
  6. This game is designed to be fun and challenging. It is meant to be an experience with similar themes to the actual TV show. Don’t take anything personally.
  7. Any contestant found to be cheating or breaking any of the agreed rules of Australian Online Survivor, or in-game rules shall be removed from the game, at the discretion of producers.
  8. All images, comments and discussions shared between participants become the property of Australian Online Survivor and may be published as part of the Season release of the game.
  9. Producers/Hosts have the final say.

Game Play

  1. All discussions, game play and agreements must be within the realm of the game, within the Facebook platform. No external discussions, in any other applications or platforms is permitted.
  2. You cannot take screenshots of private chat to show contestants. You may, however cut and paste the text from chats and edit accordingly to share with tribe members for the benefit of your game. Lie cheat and deceive to advance you.
  3. You may create a private alliance chat with as many people from your tribe as you like. You must however add the allocated producers for that season. Some people might need to tweak their security settings to receive these messages from contacts who aren’t your approved Facebook contacts.
  4. Producers will set up Tribe chats. They have the right to change the title of your chat to enable them to track important plot lines and discussions.
  5. When requested, you must submit a confessional statement or comments on the progress of the game, within 12 hours of the request.
  6. In game penalties may apply for any rules broken, bad sportsmanship or misconduct and is at the discretion of the producers. This includes missed submission for challenges and immunity council.
  7. All directions by hosts and producers must be followed.

IN-game rules

  1. If a tribe has a numbers advantage, they will be required to sit out as many members of their tribe as necessary to make the tribes even. The tribe must tell the hosts who they are sitting out 12 hours before the challenge deadline. If a tribe fails to notify the hosts who will be sitting out, the hosts will randomly select someone to sit out.
  2. Contestants cannot sit out in back to back challenges.
  3. When merge occurs, players will compete for individual immunity. The contestants who win individual immunity cannot be voted for at the next tribal council.
  4. If a contestant wins individual immunity at any point in the game and wishes to give their immunity to another contestant, they must notify the hosts before tribal council or before the final vote.
  5. If a contestant has a steal a vote reward, they must notify the host prior to tribal council, that they wish to steal a vote.
