One of our goals in Austitch is to get our art on public walls for the world to see. Let’s make stitching pertinent! If you’re interested in participating, here are some guidelines:
This is going to take a while. We will be giving time for you to design and craft, as well as the time it takes for us to find a viable gallery or public space that is taking submissions. We are looking at having all submissions complete by the end of 2020. With the onset of the pandemic, we are awaiting a safer world before moving forward with obtaining a gallery space, so this deadline is very loose.
Theme: Bees Construct, stitch, craft anything related to bees, hives, environments, bee awareness, etc. We’ve chosen bees because of their importance to our livelihoods and to help raise awareness keeping these pollinators safe from chemicals and man-made catastrophes.
Submissions should be artful and presentable. We are aiming for gallery quality. Things like “Bee Awesome” with cartoon bees are not likely to be accepted. You may create from another designer’s pattern or your own. If you have questions if your design would work within this theme, please don’t hesitate to ask!
