Ouachita Parish Burn Ban Remains in Effect

5:44 PM | Saturday October 31, 2026

The burn ban for Ouachita Parish remains in effect until further notice, and it includes burning trash. Dry conditions continue across the area, and even with some rain in the forecast tonight and Sunday, it won't be enough to ease the fire danger.

Not allowed:

• Burning trash or household garbage of any kind, including in burn barrels

• Burning leaves, limbs, brush, or yard debris

• Bonfires or unattended outdoor fires

Still allowed: Cooking on a grill or camp stove. Always keep it attended and have water nearby.

If you're celebrating Halloween tonight, please skip the bonfires and use battery-powered lights in jack-o'-lanterns instead of candles.

Violating a burn ban in Louisiana is a misdemeanor, and you can be held responsible for any fire damage it causes. Report fires or illegal burning to 911.
