The Australian Geoscience Educators Rock Exchange (AGERE) was born at the GeoSciEdX2026 Conference. Many teachers identified that the cost of fieldwork along with logistics was making it really difficult to get kids out of the classroom to see relevant rocks in their natural environment, especially given how large Australia is. The AGERE program is a way for anyone- teacher, industry professional or rock enthusiast to offer a rock to a geoscience educator to bring the field to the classroom. The google form is simply filled out and educators are matched to someone that can provide their rock!
