Aurora Powell is a DMV-based nonbinary artist specializing in performance, directing, and makeup design. As a bi-continental military dependent, the continuity in their life has been their love for the arts. They are currently attending George Mason University for their BFA in Musical Theatre. At school, Aurora is the Company Manager on the student-organized theatre staff Board of GhostLight Players. She has been involved with the marketing of Mason Theatre since the beginning of her university journey. Previously, Aurora created a TikTok platform for the Hurrah Players, Virginia's leading family theatre company, which has now amassed almost 30,000 followers and over 1 million likes. In theatre, she has been involved in many behind-the-scenes areas, including costumes, makeup, wigs, assistant directing, music directing, and teaching. Aurora has taught acting and musical theatre to students ages 4-26 in various positions at Hurrah Players, Virginia Stage Company, and Thomas Jefferson High School. Additional performance-related jobs include performer with Once Upon a Time Princess Parties DC, haunted house actor, and various film, commercial, and modeling projects. She is signed to Huston Talent Agency.

I met Aurora in my capacity as Adjunct Professor for Script Analysis and as co-director of The Originals, both at George Mason University. I have worked with her as a student, actor, and director.
In many ways, Aurora exhibits exceptional skill sets and interests. Aurora is admirable for her neatness, diligence, and clarity. Regarding script analysis work, she is excellent in her ability to understand and interpret character, themes, and trends. She always conducts herself in a professional manner. She is a fast learner and possesses excellent writing skills. She has a keen and inquisitive mind, and a pleasing and friendly character, and a great sense of humor.
As an actor, I have found Aurora to be insightful, focused, and willing to take direction. She is especially adept at musical comedy, with a strong demeanor and intuitive grasp on character. In drama, she holds a solid stage presence, with admirable focus and ability to concentrate her actions and emotions to the piece at hand. She works well with other actors and is a joy to direct.
Aurora is an amazingly friendly and approachable person, smiling and always in a pleasant mood. I cannot say enough of how much of a joy it is to work with them.
