When applying for a working visa, applicants must provide the necessary documents for their specific visa type. There are two methods for processing working visa applications:
Hiring foreign workers from overseas and,
Hiring foreigners already residing in Japan with another visa type.

The first step is to ensure you meet the basic requirements for a working visa. Gather the following documents:
Updated resume highlighting your skills, qualifications, and work experience.
Original passport with a remaining validity of at least six months.
Birth Certificate as proof of your date and place of birth.
Certificate of employment from your current or previous employer.
School Diploma or other educational certificates to demonstrate your qualifications.
JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) certificate, if you have one, to showcase your Japanese language skills.
Once you have prepared the required documents, you will need to undergo the hiring process with the employer in Japan. This may involve interviews, assessments, or other evaluations to determine your suitability for the job.
If you successfully pass the hiring process, your employer will apply for a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) on your behalf. The COE is an official document issued by the Japanese immigration authorities that confirms your eligibility for a working visa. It includes information about your employer, job position, and duration of stay in Japan.
(Note) What is a Certificate of Eligibility (COE)?
A Certificate of Eligibility, which is issued by a regional immigration authority under the jurisdiction of the Immigration Services Agency of Japan, certifies that the foreign national conforms to the conditions for landing in Japan (which means the activity stated in the application is not false and it is one of the activities (except Temporary Visitor) stipulated in the Immigration Control Act). For details, check the website of the Immigration Services Agency of JAPAN . (A proxy in Japan can make an application of COE)
By presenting COE, the visa application at the Embassy or Consulate-General and the landing examination at the passport control will be processed smoothly. However, please note that a COE does not guarantee the issuance of a visa.
A visa application for this type of visa could be made without COE. However, the applicant will be required to submit a large amount of verification documents and it could take a long time (several months) to process.

With the COE in hand, you can proceed to apply for a working visa at the Japanese Embassy or Consulate in your country. Submit the necessary documents, including the COE, passport, application form, and any additional requirements specified by the embassy or consulate. Pay the visa application fee, if applicable.
