I am Katurah and I am here to make your Make up experience one to remember!
ABout Me
My name is Katurah Muhl, I was born and raised in CT. I come from a big family with older sisters and a younger brother. My love for makeup started when I was young, for as long as I can remember. I used to play with my moms AVON samples and her makeup as a kid. My mother is very old fashioned and is the epitome of a lady. She preaches that you can't leave the house without looking presentable and a face of makeup was key. My father's is an artist, he can draw in 3D, specializing in cars. My mother allowed me to play and experiment with her makeup, which led me to a passion and love for it. My father would teach me his art techniques and I inherited his 3D skills. With my parents help, Makeup Artistry was just my cup of tea. When I was fresh out of high school and taking college courses I worked for Sephora. I lived and breathed Sephora, it was a wonderful, educational and amazing experience. I worked there many years as a Skin consultant and Makeup Artist.
As I matured and realized I wanted to get married and have a family of my own. The retail end of Sephora was not a family life for me (having to work Holidays). That being said I went on to try something new and I was bank manager which I did love, but something was missing. What you wonder? It was my makeup clients, whether it was helping that young girl find her first foundation shade, a lipstick for her prom, the exhausted mom trying to find a quick and easy routine to feel beautiful or my brides getting ready for their magical wedding day. I missed it all, so much.
I got married and have amazing blessings, a family of my own, my daughter and my son. Family life is very important to me. I had found what I needed to be back doing makeup and to be able to have my work, life balance. This allowed me to be with family and be with them for the holidays. I started my own makeup business, the Aura of Beauty and i am so thankful I did. I am able to be the involved mom I always wanted to be, and still be a part of someone's special event or wedding, making them feel beautiful. I get to do all of this, while getting to play with makeup. I am so very thankful for all of my clients and their continued support to allow me to do what I love.
