- Local Processing: Aura Notes is designed as an offline-first app. Your notes, titles, descriptions, checklists, and labels are stored locally on your device in a secure SQLite database.
- Audio Recordings: Any voice notes recorded in the app are saved only within the local sandbox storage of your device. We do not upload your text notes or voice recordings to our servers.
- Secure Storage: If you protect your folders, labels, or notes with a 4-digit PIN or biometrics, these credentials are encrypted and stored using Android's native secure Keystore/Preferences system.
- No Remote Access: We do not have remote access to your PIN. We cannot retrieve, reset, or recover your PIN if you forget it.
- Processing Queries: When you use real-time AI features like "Ask Aura", OCR, or voice transcriptions, your specific text prompt is sent via secure HTTPS to the NVIDIA NIM API (running the google/gemma-2-2b-it model) for processing.
- Data Handling: These queries are processed in real-time. The server does not store or use your prompt data for training models.
- Google Fonts: To display typography.
- Deletes & Clears: Because all data remains local, deleting a note or checklist inside the app permanently removes it from the device database.
- Uninstallation: If you uninstall the app or clear its data, all locally stored notes, audios, backup files, and PIN settings will be permanently deleted.
