AuraaByte ("we," "our," or "us") operates the QR Code & Barcode Scanner mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
Please read this policy carefully. By installing and using the App, you consent to the practices described below.
We prioritize user privacy. The App does not require user registration or account creation, and we do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, home address, or billing details unless you voluntarily contact us.
Device Permissions & Local Processing
To deliver core scanning and creation features, the App requests access to specific device features:
Camera Permission: Required strictly to scan and decode QR codes and barcodes in real-time. Camera frames are processed on-device; we do not store, record, or transmit raw camera feeds to external servers.
Storage / Photos Permission: Required to save generated QR codes and barcodes to your device’s photo library or file storage, and to scan codes from existing images you choose to upload.
Location Permission (Optional): Used solely if you choose to generate a location-based QR code using your current geographic coordinates. We do not track, log, or monitor your background location.
Contacts Permission (Optional): Used solely if you choose to generate a contact (vCard/MECARD) QR code directly from your address book. We do not copy, sync, or upload your contacts list.
All operations—scanning barcodes, decoding QR codes, and creating custom codes (e.g., Aztec, CODABAR, Code 39, EAN-8, text, URLs, phone numbers)—are executed locally on your device. We do not monitor, store, or transmit your scanned inputs, decoded outputs, or custom code data to any remote database.
The App may utilize third-party SDKs to improve performance, provide crash analytics, or serve advertisements (such as Google Play Services or AdMob). These services may collect automated data, including:
Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID)
App crash logs and diagnostic performance reports
General non-precise location data (e.g., country or region level)
Third-party partners process data in accordance with their own independent privacy policies.
The App allows you to share generated codes and scanned results via email, social media, or messaging apps. Once you initiate a share action, data handling falls under the privacy policies and terms of the selected third-party service.
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please reach out to us so we can take appropriate steps to remove it.
We implement commercially acceptable technical safeguards to protect your data. However, remember that no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect operational or regulatory changes. Any updates will be posted directly within the App or its store listing page, with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
