As mentioned earlier, ACKS offers a comprehensive service dog program spanning a duration of One Year. This program is designed to transform your personal dog into a fully trained service dog. The process commences with an initial evaluation to assess your canine's eligibility for program enrollment. Following this evaluation and the execution of a formal contract to officially join the program, you will be provided with a set of program essentials, including: Program Vest, Digital Training Logs, homework monthly calendar plans, Clicker, Training Pouch, guidance.
Every accepted team will receive a meticulously crafted, custom-embroidered program vest tailored to accommodate their future service dog. This vest is meticulously sized according to precise measurements taken for the individual canine. The vest's design features AKCS Services branding on the Center Top, complete with our logo, serving as a clear identifier for the training group involved. Furthermore, the left and right portion of the program vest is designated to directly indicate of the working canine.
Future Service Dog vests are constructed from durable White canvas material for the left and right panels, with a maroon red canvas top panel. The utilization of White on the side panel serves as an added safety feature during outings. It ensures visibility, especially when the animal is navigating stairs, tucking, or engaged in general walking, minimizing the risk of accidental collisions during the training period.
It is important to understand that all Future Service Dog vests must be returned to the program at the time of graduation. In cases where a dog successfully completes the program, ACKS will provide a new vest signifying the dog's transition to a fully trained service dog. This vest may remain with the handler for the duration of the dog’s working life, but must be returned upon the dog’s retirement. Handlers are expected to maintain the vest in good condition and are responsible for its upkeep. The white color of the Future Service Dog vest is intentional, serving to promote high grooming standards by ensuring the canine is kept clean and well-maintained.
As mentioned previously, our commitment to affordability extends to the provision of essential accessories such as leashes, collars, and name tags. The name tags we supply exclusively feature our contact information, ensuring businesses can easily reach us when needed. Upon the successful completion of the advanced obedience stage, handlers may receive crossbody leashes at an additional cost, facilitating more efficient canine heeling and allowing for hands-free collaboration. This enables teams to navigate everyday scenarios, such as carrying drinks or books, without the need for constant leash control.
In specific scenarios, such as during tests, appropriate collars will be furnished to ensure the use of the correct tools. Additionally, contact cards will be issued for those interested in learning more about us. Handlers can conveniently provide these cards to interested parties, making it easier to share information about our services in the context of their daily interactions.
