- Make sure to contact the school you want to work with very early on because sometimes it takes them quite a while to get back.
- Contact more schools than you think you need to. One might be more willing to work with you than another.
- Utilize any sort of personal contact you have.
- See if there are any limits from any of the schools you might want to work with (e.g. can you talk about birth control or not, can the children be in pictures or not)
- Buy your products in bulk to get the most bang for your buck and do your research on this as what may seem like a good deal one place might be even better at another!
- Keeping the packages discrete is a good way to make sure that none of your target group will feel awkward.
- If you focus on menstrual health try to include a variety of products (e.g. different sized pads and tampons)
- When making the packages always be overcautious and make more than you think you'll need.
- Be sure to make it educational. Often kids will get the overview of periods from their parents and/or school but often this teaching will miss important specifics (such as how to actually use a pad or tampon). Be sure to include these small details in your project.
- Make it personal! In our final product we included a part about ourselves and also our contact information. Although this isn't necessary, it does help in making the project more personable!
