Hello! I am Avinash Upadhyay, a Research Associate (RA-I) in the Thermal and Fluid Transport Laboratory (TFTL), Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Patna.
My research focuses on multiphase flows, interfacial phenomena, boiling heat transfer, bubble acoustics, and machine learning for thermo-fluid systems. I recently submitted my Ph.D. dissertation under the supervision of Prof. Rishi Raj at the Indian Institute of Technology Patna, titled "Decoding Bubble Coalescence in Boiling Heat Transfer and Acoustics."
I joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Patna in 2019 as an M.Tech. student, where I investigated pool boiling with surfactant solutions using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), focusing on the interactions between surfactant-laden bubbles. This work laid the foundation for my subsequent doctoral research in boiling heat transfer and interfacial phenomena.
