Students will use a Flipped-Classroom model where they work through online content at home and class time is used for practice and projects. This experience combines Meta Spark training/creation and career exploration

Portfolios and Hackathon/Closing Event with Employers
Portfolios and Hackathon/Closing Event with Employers
The program will end in a culminating one-day event where students will participate in a hackathon/closing event that will be judged by industry experts. Students leave with multiple portfolio ready projects having learned long term skills to create and edit portfolios

Certification and Career Opportunities
Certification and Career Opportunities
Learners who complete the certification will have access to Meta’s Train the Trainer Partner Network that will allow them to share their knowledge with peers. Any student who successfully earns the Meta Spark certification is automatically invited to join the Meta Career Programs job board

This program will upskill UX designers looking to expand their knowledge base by learning skills to advance within their careers. Graduates will gain a technical understanding of how computer graphics function by learning how to construct an AR environment and build end-to-end AR solutions for client organizations.

NOVEMBER 18 from 2-5 PM (IN PERSON) Classes begin in person (Brooklyn Public Library, Grand Army Plaza, Room: )

About The Instructor
Michael A. is a Design Leader, Tech Strategist, Educator, and Entrepreneur from New York. He is currently Director of Design at Heady. He specializes in Design Leadership and Management, Design Strategy, Process, and Operations, Inclusive Design and Accessibility, and Design Systems, and is passionate about Mission-Driven Work, Gov Tech, Civic Design, and Future Tech.
He’s been an educator for more than five years having taught at General Assembly and Career Foundry and currently teaching at CUNY. He also runs Rita Lab which initially launched as Inclusion Design Lab in 2021. Rita Lab is an educational community for creatives, technologists, designers, and future innovators at the intersection of career, creativity, and culture. The Rita Lab team is on a mission to make tech and design more diverse and inclusive by supporting diverse career seekers and promoting inclusive practices for technologists and designers.
Before UX & Product Design, he was a Front-end Developer and then a UI Designer. All in all, he’s been building digital products for over 10 years and has been loving every bit of it!
