Social Science Component: economic influence
The gambling sector significantly affects the American economy by creating roughly two million steady jobs and bringing in billions of dollars in tax revenue. Since 2014, this study is the first to provide a thorough analysis of the national economic impact of the gaming sector.
There are 727,000 individuals employed directly in the gaming sector in the United States, and $33.3 billion is made up of wages, salaries, tips, benefits, and other labor income. This comprises 559,000 jobs that are located on-site at casinos and corporate offices, 17,000 positions in gaming manufacturer operations in the United States, and 151,000 jobs at companies that provide goods and services to casino visitors while they are on casino visits.
Casino customers spend an additional $13.3 billion at other companies, which includes $2.4 billion at restaurants and $1.7 billion at shops.
In recent years the gaming industry has become one of the most influential and profitable industries. The industry has been able to have an output of $261.4 billion in business sales, 1.8 million jobs with $70.0 billion of labor income.
The gaming conventions also have a big impact on the economy. As when a gaming convention comes to a city it stimulates the market in that city. The city with that stimulation is able to create more job opportunities. This is also an opportunity that causes more traction in the city so they are able to expand to existing jobs that are there to add more revenue.
The gaming community has also been able to help raise money for several charities. With the exposure that the charities got they are able to reach more people in their economy.
These are just a few examples on how gaming affects the economy.
