If you want simple, portable headphones that fold flat for travel and rely on standard AA batteries, choose Audiovox MTGHP1CA; if you need premium audio quality with a 50-hour battery life, smart voice assistant access, and superior comfort for all-day wear including for glasses wearers, choose Amazon Renewed Jabra Elite 45h.
• Audiovox MTGHP1CA: Its biggest strength is the ultra-compact, fold-flat design powered by included AA batteries, but it offers only single-channel audio and lacks modern connectivity features. It is best for travelers or guests who need a backup pair that fits easily in a pocket without needing a charger.
• Amazon Renewed Jabra Elite 45h: The standout feature here is the exceptional sound from 40mm drivers and an industry-leading 50-hour battery life, though it requires charging and uses Bluetooth rather than being a standalone wireless unit. This pick is ideal for daily commuters, audiophiles, and anyone wearing glasses who needs long-lasting comfort and smart features.
The Audiovox MTGHP1CA Single Channel Wireless Fold-Flat Headphones occupy a very specific niche in the market. Designed primarily as a replacement for broken or lost pairs of older wireless systems, this device prioritizes portability and ease of power above all else. The most distinct physical characteristic is its ability to fold completely flat, making it one of the smallest headphone options available. With dimensions of roughly 2 x 7.5 x 7.5 inches when folded, it can slip into almost any bag or even a large coat pocket without creating bulk.
For the practical buyer, the power source is a major advantage. Unlike many modern devices that require proprietary charging cables or Li-ion batteries that degrade over time, this model runs on two standard AA batteries, which are included in the box. This means you never have to hunt for a specific USB cable or worry about a dead battery if you cannot find a power outlet immediately. The auto shut-off feature further extends the usability of these batteries, ensuring they don't drain while sitting idle in your luggage.
However, the trade-offs are significant enough that this product is not for everyone. As a single-channel wireless design, it delivers mono audio rather than stereo. If you listen to music where instrument separation matters, or watch movies where directional sound effects create immersion, this will feel dated compared to modern standards. It is also quite lightweight at 8 ounces, which might feel insubstantial to some users expecting a more robust build. This headset is strictly for those who need a reliable, low-maintenance backup pair or a dedicated listening solution for a specific TV or device where high-fidelity stereo is not the primary goal.

In stark contrast to the basic utility of the Audiovox, the Amazon Renewed Jabra Elite 45h is engineered for serious listening and extended daily use. The headline feature is the advanced 40mm speaker drivers, which are among the largest in this category. This larger driver size translates directly to better bass response, clearer mids, and improved overall music clarity. Whether you are commuting on a noisy train or relaxing at home, the audio experience is designed to be immersive and rich, far surpassing the capabilities of simpler single-channel units.
Comfort is another pillar of the Jabra Elite 45h's design, specifically targeting users who wear their headphones for hours. The ear cushions are made of soft, moldable memory foam that adapts to the shape of your head and ears. This is a critical detail for glasses wearers, as the pressure points around the temples are often the first place discomfort sets in during long sessions. The memory foam distributes weight evenly, preventing the tight clamping force that causes headaches. Additionally, the on-ear placement is balanced to stay secure without digging into the skin, making it suitable for all-day wear whether you are working from home or traveling.
The battery life on this unit is equally impressive, offering up to 50 hours of continuous playback on a single charge. This longevity eliminates the anxiety of running out of power mid-commute or during a long flight. When the battery does run low, the fast-charge capability allows you to get several minutes of listening time from just a few minutes of charging. Beyond audio, the integrated microphones support clear voice calls, and the direct access to voice assistants like Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant adds a layer of convenience that the Audiovox simply cannot match. The inclusion of the Jabra Sound+ App also allows users to customize the EQ settings via MySound technology, tailoring the audio profile to their personal hearing preferences.
• Best for battery longevity → Amazon Renewed Jabra Elite 45h (50 hours vs. limited AA runtime).
• Best for compact storage → Audiovox MTGHP1CA (Fold-flat design is smaller than the Jabra).
• Best for audio fidelity → Amazon Renewed Jabra Elite 45h (Stereo sound with 40mm drivers vs. single channel).
• Best for glasses wearers → Amazon Renewed Jabra Elite 45h (Memory foam cushions reduce temple pressure significantly).
• Best for emergency backup → Audiovox MTGHP1CA (No charger needed, just pop in fresh AA batteries).
• Best for smart features → Amazon Renewed Jabra Elite 45h (Built-in voice assistants and app customization).
• Best for travel simplicity → Audiovox MTGHP1CA (Lightweight and folds flat for easy packing).
• Best for call quality → Amazon Renewed Jabra Elite 45h (Dual microphone technology vs. basic wireless transmission).
After weighing the specifications and intended use cases, I would buy the Amazon Renewed Jabra Elite 45h for my own daily needs. While the Audiovox has its place as a cheap, no-frills backup, the Jabra offers a complete audio experience that justifies its existence. The combination of superior sound quality, the massive 50-hour battery life, and the memory foam ear cushions makes it the clear winner for anyone who actually cares about how their music sounds and how their ears feel after four hours of listening. Specifically for glasses wearers, the comfort factor provided by the Jabra's design is non-negotiable, whereas the Audiovox feels too utilitarian to recommend for regular use.
No, neither product uses bone conduction technology. However, the Amazon Renewed Jabra Elite 45h features soft memory foam ear cushions that are specifically designed to minimize pressure on the arms of your glasses, making them much more comfortable for glasses wearers than rigid alternatives.
The Audiovox MTGHP1CA does not include a charger because it is powered by two standard AA batteries, which are included in the package. This design choice allows you to replace the power source instantly without needing to plug the headphones into a wall outlet.
The Jabra Elite 45h provides up to 50 hours of playback on a single charge, whereas the Audiovox relies on the capacity of the included AA batteries. While the exact runtime of the Audiovox varies based on battery type, the Jabra's rechargeable lithium-ion system is built for sustained, multi-day usage without interruption.
Yes, the Jabra Elite 45h supports Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, which ensures compatibility with most modern smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
