If you want a complete desktop audio setup with studio monitors and over-ear headphones for a child to explore music production or gaming, choose Audiosavings Bundle Pair Presonus; if you need professional-grade in-ear isolation for critical listening or stage monitoring on the go, choose NFACOUS NM20.
• Audiosavings Bundle Pair Presonus offers a massive value proposition by bundling two distinct products: 3.5-inch reference studio monitors and closed-back over-ear headphones, though it requires a fixed power outlet and desk space.
• NFACOUS NM20 delivers high-end, wired in-ear isolation with a unique acoustic design for audiophiles, but it is a single-unit earphone solution that lacks the room-filling capability of speakers.
• The Audiosavings bundle is best for a home studio environment where a child needs to hear sound from all directions or work at a computer station.
• The NFACOUS NM20 is best for a mobile musician or a student who needs absolute silence and precision in their own ears without disturbing others.
The Audiosavings Bundle is essentially a gateway into serious audio engineering, packaged as a convenient two-item set. At its core, this bundle features the Presonus Eris 3.5 2nd Gen studio monitors. These are not generic bookshelf speakers; they are designed with a specific goal: to provide an accurate frequency response that allows users to hear exactly what is being recorded or played back. The specifications reveal a 3.5-inch woven-composite low-frequency driver paired with a 1-inch silk-dome high-frequency driver. This combination, driven by a robust 50W Class AB dual amplification system, ensures that the sound output reaches up to 97 dB SPL at one meter. For a child interested in creating music, editing videos, or simply playing games, this level of fidelity means they can hear the nuances of bass and treble that cheaper consumer speakers would muddy.
Complementing these speakers are the Rockville PRO-M50 studio headphones. While the speakers handle the ambient room sound, these headphones offer a private listening experience with supreme sound isolation. They utilize 40mm Neodymium drivers, which are known for delivering punchy and detailed audio. The design is circumaural, meaning the ear cups completely surround the ear, which helps block out external noise effectively. The build quality appears rugged enough for daily use, featuring a stainless steel headband frame and moving arms that are described as durable and long-lasting. The ear cushions are interchangeable, offering both soft suede and leather options, which adds a layer of comfort for extended sessions. The included detachable coil cable, made of 100% Oxygen Free Copper, extends to 158 inches fully, giving plenty of slack for movement around a desk.
This product is ideal for a young person who wants to set up a dedicated corner for creative work. Whether they are mixing tracks, learning about audio frequencies, or engaging in immersive gaming, having both speakers and headphones provides a versatile workflow. The speakers allow them to share sound with friends or family in the room, while the headphones let them focus deeply without distraction. The inclusion of various connectivity options—balanced ¼-inch TRS inputs, unbalanced ⅛-inch stereo, and RCA inputs—means this setup can connect to almost any source, from a laptop to a mixer. However, it is important to note that this is a corded electric solution. It requires a nearby power outlet and does not offer wireless freedom. If your child prefers to move freely around the house without being tethered to a wall socket, this might feel restrictive. Additionally, the physical footprint is significant; the dimensions indicate a substantial presence on a desk, so it is not suitable for small, cluttered spaces.

In stark contrast to the room-filling nature of the Audiosavings bundle, the NFACOUS NM20 is a highly specialized tool for the individual listener. This is a wired in-ear monitor (IEM) designed specifically for musicians and audiophiles who demand clarity above all else. The defining feature here is the "Clutter Trap Technology," a unique cavity structure developed by NF ACOUS. This technology adjusts the air pressure balance between the front and rear of the driver, which theoretically results in a more reference-class sound profile. By controlling air pressure within the ear canal, the manufacturer claims to reduce distortion and improve the low-frequency performance below 100Hz. For a child who is serious about understanding how sound waves interact with the human ear, or who needs to practice instruments in a noisy environment, this passive sound isolation of 25dB is a game-changer.
The construction of the NM20 reflects its professional pedigree. The housing is made from high-strength transparent polycarbonate with a frosted surface, accented by CNC-carved aluminum parts. This combination suggests a device that is lightweight yet incredibly durable, capable of withstanding the rigors of travel or stage use. The ergonomic design is clearly the result of extensive engineering; the nozzle is slightly curved to mimic the natural bend of the ear, reducing pressure against the crus helix while adding support to the concha. This attention to detail implies that the user can wear these for long periods without the discomfort often associated with cheap earbuds. The dynamic driver itself is integrated with electronic tuning, utilizing a beryllium-plated diaphragm to ensure a relaxed tune and stable sound quality.
Who should buy this? This product is perfect for a child who is already involved in music performance, choir, or band practice where they need to hear themselves clearly amidst loud instruments. It is also excellent for a student who needs to study or listen to lectures in a busy household without using active noise cancellation that might introduce artificial artifacts. The package includes four pairs of eartips in XS, S, M, and L sizes, ensuring a secure fit for different ear shapes. However, the trade-off is mobility versus isolation. While the cable is made of 5N OFC material for high conductivity, it is still a wired connection ending in a standard 3.5mm jack. There is no Bluetooth capability, meaning the user must be physically close to their audio source. Furthermore, because these are in-ear monitors, they do not provide the same spatial awareness as over-ear headphones or speakers. You lose the ability to hear traffic or someone calling your name while wearing them, which is a safety consideration for younger children.
• Best for multi-device versatility: Audiosavings Bundle Pair Presonus wins easily. With TRS, RCA, and ⅛-inch inputs, plus a built-in headphone amp, it connects to everything from DJ mixers to game consoles, whereas the NFACOUS NM20 is limited to a single 3.5mm input.
• Best for deep immersion and privacy: NFACOUS NM20 is superior due to its 25dB passive sound isolation and in-ear design, making it impossible to disturb others, unlike the speakers in the Audiosavings bundle which fill the room.
• Best for building a home studio: Audiosavings Bundle Pair Presonus provides the foundational hardware needed for recording and mixing (monitors + headphones), while the NFACOUS NM20 is just a single component for playback.
• Best for portability: NFACOUS NM20 takes up virtually no space and comes with a compact storage box, whereas the Audiosavings bundle requires a dedicated desk area with ample depth and width.
• Best for battery-free reliability: Both are corded, but the NFACOUS NM20 has a simpler setup with no power brick required for the earphones, while the Audiosavings speakers require AC power and have a power saver mode that engages after 40 minutes.
• Best for durability in rough handling: The Audiosavings bundle includes a hard leather carrying case for the headphones, but the speakers are stationary. The NFACOUS NM20 is built with high-strength polycarbonate and aluminum, making it tough for travel but lacking a heavy-duty case in the standard description.
• Best for bass response: The Audiosavings bundle offers a 3.5-inch woofer capable of producing 80Hz to 20kHz, providing physical bass vibration, while the NFACOUS NM20 targets low frequencies below 100Hz electronically but cannot produce the same physical impact.
• Best for ease of setup: NFACOUS NM20 is plug-and-play with minimal accessories, whereas the Audiosavings bundle requires cabling, mounting, and configuration of multiple devices.
After analyzing the specifications and intended use cases for both products, I recommend the Audiosavings Bundle Pair Presonus for most families looking for a gift for a child interested in audio. The sheer breadth of the package—providing both professional-grade speakers and high-quality headphones—creates a complete ecosystem for creativity. It supports the primary use case of introducing children to the world of sound engineering, allowing them to experiment with volume, frequency, and isolation simultaneously. The ability to switch between open-room listening and private monitoring makes it adaptable to various moods and activities. While the NFACOUS NM20 is an impressive piece of engineering for specific musical tasks, the Audiosavings bundle offers a broader educational and entertainment value that justifies the larger footprint and wired nature. Ultimately, for children who are starting their journey into music or gaming, having a full studio setup on their desk is far more inspiring than a single pair of earphones.
