This Privacy Policy describes how AudioRave ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application AudioRave. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices. The short version: your audio never leaves your device, analytics runs only with your consent, and we never sell your data.
Audio Content: We do not record, store, or transmit any audio from your device's microphone. Audio is processed locally on your device solely for visualization purposes.
Camera Content: We do not capture, store, or transmit any images or videos from your device's camera.
Personal Information: We do not require accounts, logins, or collect personal identifying information such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers.
Advertising Data: We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA), do not show ads, and do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
On first launch, AudioRave asks whether you allow anonymous usage analytics. If you decline, no analytics are collected at all. If you allow it, we collect limited technical information through Google Analytics for Firebase:
Device Information: Device type, operating system version, app version
Usage Analytics: How you interact with the app, features used, session duration
Technical Data: IP address (anonymized), general location (country/region level only), and an anonymous per-installation identifier used solely for analytics
Crash and Performance Reports: Through Firebase Crashlytics we collect crash reports and performance diagnostics (device model, OS version, and technical details about what the app was doing when a problem occurred). This data is anonymous and is not linked to your identity. It operates independently of your analytics choice because it is essential for keeping the app functional.
Device Tokens: We collect device push notification tokens to send you updates about new features and app improvements
Notification Preferences: Whether you have enabled or disabled push notifications
We use the collected information solely to:
Improve app performance and fix bugs
Understand how users interact with our app to enhance user experience
Send push notifications about app updates and new features (only if you opt in)
Generate anonymous usage statistics and analytics
Purpose: Used only to analyze audio for real-time music visualization and beat detection
Data Handling: Audio is processed locally on your device and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted
Purpose: Used to control your device's flashlight/torch for light effects, and to scan party QR invite codes
Data Handling: QR codes are processed entirely on your device. No images or videos are captured, stored, or transmitted
Purpose: To sync your device's flashlight with audio beats for enhanced visual effects
Data Handling: No data is collected from this feature
Purpose: Party Mode connects nearby devices directly to each other — peer-to-peer over your local network and Bluetooth — to synchronize a light show across phones
Data Handling: While a party is running, your device shares only a display name (for example, "iPhone #4F2A") and visual synchronization data (colors, timing, effect parameters) with the participating devices in the room. This information is never sent to our servers or to any third party, and it is discarded when the party ends
We use Google Analytics for Firebase (analytics, with your consent), Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting), and Firebase Cloud Messaging (notifications). These services are provided by Google LLC and are subject to Google's Privacy Policy. The data collected is anonymized and used solely for improving our app.
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to third parties for commercial purposes.
Analytics Data: Retained by Google Analytics for a limited period (currently up to 14 months) and then deleted automatically
Crash Reports: Retained by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days
Push Notification Tokens: Retained until you uninstall the app or disable notifications
Party Mode Data: Never stored — synchronization data exists only during an active party and is discarded when the party ends
Analytics only runs if you allow it, and you can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy
Withdrawing consent stops all future collection and deletes the analytics identifier from your device
You can enable or disable push notifications at any time through your device settings
Disabling notifications will not affect app functionality
Withdraw analytics consent in Settings → Privacy to delete your analytics identifier
Uninstall the app to stop all data collection
Contact us using the information below for any data access or deletion request
Legal bases: Analytics is processed on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time. Crash reporting is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the app functional (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
You have the right to request access to, rectification of, or deletion of data associated with your installation
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority
We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. California residents may contact us to exercise their rights to know or delete the limited data described in this policy.
Our app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). Analytics only ever runs after explicit opt-in consent. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
The analytics and diagnostics data we collect may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States where Google's servers are located. These transfers are conducted in accordance with applicable data protection laws and are protected by standard contractual safeguards.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data we collect, and we minimize what we collect in the first place. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
