The presence of speech in our environment can interfere with our current goals. While distraction by speech is a common experience, we know little about how irrelevant speech attracts attention. This project explores the potential mechanisms underlying auditory attentional capture and the effects of auditory attentional capture over time.
We are actively recruiting for a number of studies as part of the Speech Salience project. Below are the criteria for our open studies (for more studies check here). If you meet any of them, then we would love to hear from you!

"Attention to music" in-lab EEG study (£20 in shopping vouchers or course credits)
Native English speakers (any English background)
Musicians with more than 5 years musical training
Non-musicians with no musical training at all
Aged 18-40
No hearing problems
