If you want a reliable, wired studio monitor that pairs with glasses without slipping and offers passive isolation for critical mixing, choose Audio-Technica ATH-M20x; if you need wireless freedom, real-time zero-latency monitoring on stage, and an in-ear design that stays secure during active performance, choose Depusheng Ear Monitor System.
• Audio-Technica ATH-M20x: Offers exceptional sound clarity with 40mm neodymium drivers and a lightweight 6.7 oz build ideal for long sessions, but requires a wired connection and lacks active noise cancellation features.
• Depusheng Ear Monitor System: Delivers ultra-low latency wireless transmission and over 8 hours of battery life for live performance, though its in-ear form factor may feel different to those used to over-ear comfort.
• Best For: The Audio-Technica is the pick for stationary studio work and home content creation where cables are manageable; the Depusheng system wins for musicians needing movement, wireless flexibility, and real-time vocal feedback.
The Audio-Technica ATH-M20x is built for the person who sits down to mix, record, or DJ and needs a consistent, accurate reference point without distraction. This closed-back dynamic headphone utilizes 40mm neodymium drivers to deliver a broad frequency response ranging from 15 Hz to 20,000 Hz. That range ensures you hear the full spectrum of your audio, from the deepest bass kicks to the highest cymbal crashes, making it a solid choice for beginners entering the world of recording or experienced creators who just need a dependable secondary pair of ears.
For glasses wearers, this model stands out because of its specific design philosophy regarding comfort and fit. Weighing in at just 6.7 oz (190g), the lightweight construction prevents the heavy pressure often felt by users wearing prescription frames all day. The over-ear earpiece style wraps around the head rather than pressing directly into the ear canal, which is a crucial distinction for anyone struggling with the clamping force of in-ear monitors against their temple arms. While they do not feature active electronic noise cancellation, the closed-back dynamic design provides excellent passive isolation, effectively minimizing external distractions so you can focus entirely on your mix or beat.

You should buy this unit if your workflow involves a stationary desk setup, whether in a professional studio or a home bedroom environment. The included desktop stand makes storage convenient, and the robust 9.8-foot straight cable allows for plenty of movement around your workspace without tangles. However, if you find yourself constantly moving between rooms, performing live, or needing to walk away from your computer while monitoring, the wired nature and lack of battery power might become a significant friction point in your daily routine.
The Depusheng Ear Monitor System is engineered specifically for the performer who cannot afford to be tethered to a wall outlet or worried about cables getting caught on stage equipment. Its core strength lies in the zero-latency monitoring technology, ensuring virtually no delay between the instrument or voice and what you hear in your ears. This is non-negotiable for singers and guitarists who need to hear their own pitch accurately in real time to stay in tune during a live set. The system supports a transmission distance of over 50 meters, giving you ample room to roam the stage or practice area without signal dropouts.
Comfort is a major selling point here, particularly for extended wear during rehearsals or gigs. The ergonomic in-ear design is crafted to minimize fatigue, allowing you to wear them for hours without the soreness that often accompanies bulkier headphones. The built-in high-sensitivity condenser microphone captures the soundtrack of your instrument clearly, making the sound more realistic and immediate. With a battery average life of 8 hours once fully charged, you have enough power to get through a full concert or a marathon practice session without needing to stop and recharge.
This system is the right choice if you value mobility above all else. The automatic pairing feature means you can turn on the transmitter and receiver and be connected within seconds, ready to play immediately. However, the trade-off is the in-ear form factor itself. If you prefer the feeling of air circulation behind your eardrums or struggle with the sensation of anything inside your ear canal, this design will not suit you. Additionally, while it offers environmental noise control, it relies on the seal of the ear tips rather than the physical enclosure of over-ear cups.
• Best for glasses wearers seeking stability → Audio-Technica ATH-M20x, as the over-ear design accommodates temple arms without the tight seal issues common with in-ear models.
• Best for wireless freedom → Depusheng Ear Monitor System, offering RF connectivity and a 50-meter range that frees you from cable constraints.
• Best for battery independence → Depusheng Ear Monitor System, providing 8 hours of continuous use compared to the wired, always-on nature of the Audio-Technica.
• Best for low-latency live performance → Depusheng Ear Monitor System, featuring ultra-low latency technology essential for real-time vocal and instrumental monitoring.

After weighing the specifications and intended use cases, I would personally choose the Audio-Technica ATH-M20x if my primary goal was creating music in a home studio or editing video content. The combination of the 40mm drivers, the specific weight distribution, and the over-ear design makes it the superior option for someone who wears glasses and spends long hours seated at a desk. It simply feels more like a dedicated tool for precision work rather than a piece of gear that requires constant charging and pairing management. However, if my life involved performing live or moving around constantly, the Depusheng system would be the only logical choice due to its wireless capabilities. Ultimately, for the glasses wearer looking for a comfortable, reliable, and accurate monitoring solution, the Audio-Technica ATH-M20x remains the clear winner for stationary work.
Yes, the Depusheng Ear Monitor System boasts an 8-hour battery life after a 2-hour charge, whereas the Audio-Technica ATH-M20x has no battery since it is a wired device that draws power directly from the source.
The Audio-Technica ATH-M20x uses a closed-back dynamic design for excellent passive isolation, which is generally superior for blocking out ambient room noise compared to the in-ear environmental noise control of the Depusheng system.
