Note:

1. LVDS cable connects to back of LCD screen, NOT back of radio

2. LVDS harness and camera input harness are identical and can be easily mixed up, please use label on the module to identify them. Camera input on the side of DIP switches. 

3. Use DIP switches on the module to turn off parking sensor display if desired.

4. Use DIP switches to set front camera display or DVR input

5. Black Screen, no display at all, most likely item 2 above.

Troubleshooting: 

All System:

• First make sure the red LED on the module is blinking - it means the module is communicating with CANBUS system correctly (counter-intuitive, we know)

• No camera image - reverse screen is black with parking guideline, but camera video

  • Camera needs power: make sure the purple rear cam power is sending +12v on reverse via the red wire along the long camera cable to the camera. On the camera end, red to red via the little power plug, or can cut it off and hardwire it. 

  • Make sure camera is connected to "Rear cam input", not "Front cam input"

• Parking sensors overlay on screen - it can be turned off with DIP switch on the module (settings on the module label). For 2013+ Audi equipped with parking sensors, parking data will show up just like factory ones. For older Audi, only audible alerts.

• Front camera doesn't stay on - Default setting shows front camera for 10 sec after shift into Park. Set DIP switch to DVR mode to manually control front camera. See settings label on the module. 

• Airbag light comes on after installation: Ignition on while passenger airbag light disconnected during installation and testing. It has to be cleared with a scan tool. To avoid that, connect the airbag indicator light back before you turn on the ignition to test. 

• Initially was able to switch to reverse screen, then it stopped: Try cold reset, either disconnect battery for 5 minutes, or lock the car with remote and leave it for 20-30 minutes and try again. Sometimes with constant testing, the system gets into a confused state. 

AMI Camera Kit:

• Black Screen, no display at all, no factory radio display

  • LVDS output should connect to back of LCD Screen, NOT back of radio (unlike MMI module). 

  • LVDS and Camera input harness most likely reversed at the module: both use the same white connectors and can easily be mixed up. Make sure LVDS connector DOES NOT go into camera input, check label on the module. Swap them if reversed.
