If you want precise, studio-grade monitoring with a comfortable open-back design for long streaming sessions, choose Audeze MM-100; if you need a lightweight, semi-open in-ear solution with deep bass and rugged durability for mobile or gaming streaming, choose TANGZU HE Xiao Qiao.
• Audeze MM-100: Offers industry-leading planar magnetic accuracy and premium build quality but requires a dedicated audio interface due to its wired nature and over-ear form factor. Best for the stationary streamer who demands absolute sonic fidelity.
• TANGZU HE Xiao Qiao: Delivers fast, balanced sound from a graphene driver in an incredibly light, CNC-machined shell with passive noise isolation, making it ideal for on-the-go content creation. Best for the mobile streamer prioritizing comfort and portability.
The Audeze MM-100 is not merely a pair of headphones; it is a tool designed for the serious audio professional who refuses to compromise on what they hear. At its core lies a pair of newly designed planar magnetic drivers that promise pinpoint precision and ultra-low distortion. These are not casual listening devices; they are engineered to transform any space into a production-grade studio environment. The goal here is total transparency, allowing you to hear exactly what the artist intended without the room acoustics interfering. This level of detail is critical when you are streaming high-fidelity music reviews, podcast editing, or live performances where every nuance matters.
The physical construction of the MM-100 speaks to its "pedigree." It features a chassis built from magnesium aluminum and steel, materials chosen for their durability and acoustic properties. You get a spring-steel headband and gel-filled leather earpads that cradle your ears, ensuring that even during marathon streaming sessions, fatigue remains minimal. The suspension strap feels feather-light, distributing weight effectively so you can wear them for hours without the pressure points common in other heavy-duty headphones. The design also includes a unique single-sided cable that connects to either the left or right earcup, keeping the wire out of your way whether you are working around an instrument, a computer, or a console.

However, this level of performance comes with specific requirements. The MM-100 operates at 18 ohms and uses a 9-centimeter driver size, which means it benefits significantly from a capable amplifier to reach its full potential. It is strictly a wired device, utilizing a 3.5mm jack with a 6.35mm adapter included for laptops and smaller studio gear. There is no wireless connectivity, and the open-back design means there is zero noise isolation; sound will leak out, and outside noise will come in. Consequently, this headphone is perfect for the streamer working in a quiet, controlled home studio, but it would be a poor choice for someone trying to broadcast while commuting or in a noisy coffee shop. If your workflow involves moving between locations frequently, the bulk and the need for a stable power source for amplification might feel like a constraint rather than a benefit.
In stark contrast to the over-ear dominance of the Audeze, the TANGZU HE Xiao Qiao is an in-ear monitor that draws inspiration from medieval armor and blacksmith artistry, refined through aerospace-grade computational optimization. This product is built for those who need a compact, durable, and sonically impressive solution that fits seamlessly into a dynamic lifestyle. The enclosure combines aerospace-grade aluminum alloy panels with nanometer-precise 3D resin printing, creating a shell that is both structurally resilient and anatomically optimized for a secure fit. The purple finish is just the surface; the real story is inside the acoustic chambers where the driver sits.
The heart of the Xiao Qiao is a 10mm graphene diaphragm dynamic driver. Graphene is known for its extreme rigidity and lightness, allowing for tight bass, detailed mids, and crisp highs without the phase issues often found in multi-driver setups. This single-driver approach focuses on purity and coherence, delivering a unified soundstage that feels natural. The semi-open back design is a key differentiator here; by allowing the driver to breathe, it reduces internal air pressure to unlock a more expansive soundstage and lifelike imaging. This creates a balanced, open sound that feels effortless, yet the design still offers passive noise cancellation, providing enough isolation to focus on your stream without needing active electronics.
For a streamer, the practical advantages are immediate. The inclusion of a customized detachable cable using Furukawa silver-copper alloy wire ensures reliable signal transmission and makes future upgrades easy. The 0.78mm connector standard is widely compatible, giving you flexibility if you ever decide to swap cables. Weighing in as a true in-ear device, it is far more portable than any over-ear alternative. You can throw the case in a pocket and go, making it an excellent choice for the streamer who records voiceovers on the move, monitors audio while traveling, or needs a reliable backup setup for gaming streams where latency and connection stability are paramount. While it lacks the massive soundstage of large drivers, its frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz covers the entire audible spectrum efficiently, ensuring you won't miss the nuances of a vocal track or a low-end beat.
• Best for studio-level accuracy → Audeze MM-100, thanks to its planar magnetic drivers and collaboration with Grammy-winning engineers.
• Best for mobility and portability → TANGZU HE Xiao Qiao, offering a compact in-ear form factor that fits anywhere.
• Best for long-wear comfort → Audeze MM-100, with its gel-filled leather pads and feather-light suspension strap designed for hours of use.
• Best for passive isolation → TANGZU HE Xiao Qiao, utilizing its semi-open back design and in-ear fit to block ambient noise better than open-back headphones.
• Best for bass control and speed → TANGZU HE Xiao Qiao, leveraging the graphene diaphragm for tight, fast transient response.
• Best for detailed mid-range separation → Audeze MM-100, with its 9cm drivers and waveguide technology offering superior clarity for complex mixes.
• Best for cable versatility → Both offer detachable or flexible options, but the TANGZU allows for easier cable swapping with its universal 0.78mm standard.
• Best for a "set it and forget it" studio vibe → Audeze MM-100, folding flat for travel but primarily designed for a permanent desk setup.
• Best value for a high-tech build → TANGZU HE Xiao Qiao, packing 5-axis CNC machining and graphene tech into a small package.
If I were setting up a dedicated streaming station today, I would buy the Audeze MM-100. The ability to hear every layer of a mix with such precision is invaluable for content creators who care about audio quality, and the comfort of the gel-filled pads ensures I can work for hours without distraction. However, for the streamer who needs a deep bass open ear headphone for streaming that is actually portable, or perhaps looking for waterproof sports earbuds for streaming (though these aren't waterproof, they are durable), the TANGZU HE Xiao Qiao is the smarter daily driver. Ultimately, the Audeze is the superior tool for the craft, while the TANGZU is the superior companion for the journey. If you are building a best wireless headset for streaming ecosystem (though both are wired), neither fits that bill perfectly, but for pure audio fidelity in a wired setup, the Audeze wins my recommendation for the serious creator.
Yes, both are designed for extended use; the Audeze excels with its gel-filled leather pads and lightweight suspension, while the TANGZU offers a secure, lightweight in-ear fit that avoids the heat buildup of over-ear models.
While they have a relatively low impedance of 18 ohms, the planar magnetic drivers perform best when paired with a capable amplifier to fully utilize their speed and detail, whereas the TANGZU dynamic driver works well with most standard sources.
The Audeze MM-100 provides a wider, more immersive open-back soundstage typical of studio monitors, while the TANGZU HE Xiao Qiao offers a surprisingly spacious and balanced presentation for an in-ear monitor due to its semi-open back design.
The TANGZU HE Xiao Qiao is more travel-friendly due to its compact size and detachable cable, though the Audeze includes a soft cover gig bag and folds flat, making it robust enough for road use if you carry a backpack.
