To offer a normal, adapted, and safe living environment alternative to adults living with one or more intellectual and/or physical limitations. This mission is accomplished by offering disabled and vulnerable persons the following:
quality housing services that meet the needs of tenants considering their individual situation, while offering them the security and stability that their living conditions require, and that respects the persons’ autonomy and quality of life, by:
offering low-cost quality housing for persons with modest income,
providing a stimulating, welcoming, friendly and peaceful living environment,
providing an environment that considers and maintains what has been acquired, while allowing the development of other skills that promote autonomy, and
giving tenants the opportunity to participate in social, cultural, and professional activities that meet their needs and develop their skills and interests.
The Centre responds to the fundamental right that allows access to an adapted residential resource for disabled and vulnerable persons.
Tenants, parents, family, and members of society dream of living in a fair environment where everyone is treated equitably.
The Centre is committed to ensure a safe living environment adapted to the needs of persons with disabilities by:
serving as an example of excellence in housing services for disabled and vulnerable persons,
offering a quality living environment and services,
maintaining acquisitions and developing new ones adapted to their skills and fields of interest,
making available adequate human resources at all hours of the day or night,
ensuring a healthy workplace that fosters sociability, teamwork, communication and mutual respect,
supporting community life through various activities to recognize the rights of our members through stimulating activities, leisure, training, and information workshops. These actions will be organized in partnership with other organizations in the field, and
becoming a reference for any organization wishing to duplicate a similar project for its community or region.
To achieve its mission, Au cœur de ma communauté adopts social values that serve as guidelines for its administrators, staff, and volunteers. These values are:
Respect of persons: every person has the right to live and work in an environment that respects the uniqueness of each person. To fully live this value, the directors have adopted a code of ethics entitled Rules of Life and Professional Ethics:
towards all and in general,
towards tenants,
towards the employer, and
between employees.
These rules favour consideration, tact, and respect for others. It is in words and actions that persons are respected.
The well-being of the person : Wishing for the well-being of the disabled and vulnerable person is a value that invites the gift of oneself and the offering of the best of oneself. This value promotes advancement of persons with disabilities towards greater independence. To preserve and improve the autonomy of the person, it is important to adapt, make accessible premises, and offer quality services with friendly, respectful staff with a constant concern for the well-being of the person and the workplace.
Solidarity and commitment: Solidarity is a value that invites persons to give each other mutual help, this solidarity is motivated by common interests, and it is thanks to this solidarity that the Centre was born.
A sense of responsibility, personal and collective commitment stems from this solidarity with disabled and vulnerable persons. This sense of commitment ensures that everyone becomes supportive of the decisions taken and takes responsibility for them.
