Ph.D./Master/Bachelor positions are open for interested postgraduate/undergraduate students to work in the following experimental/numerical research areas:
Experimental fluid-structure interaction:
Performing FSI experiments in an in-house developed water channel for renewable energy generation from fluid flow, fundamental FSI research, etc.
Enhancement of the in-house Particle-image-velocimetry software for error reduction in flow measurements. Possible use of AI/ML for improved resolution of measurement.
Numerical fluid-structure interaction:
Contribution to the development of a spectral-element-based FSI solver.
Contribution to the development of an immersed boundary FSI solver that uses an adaptive Cartesian grid.
Numerical investigation of renewable energy generation from flow-induced vibration.
Numerical investigation of vertical-axis hydrokinetic turbines.
Self-motivated students with their own research ideas (not listed above) are also encouraged to apply for the position.
