He holds a bachelor's and master's degree in History from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), a PhD in Social History of Culture from PUC-Rio, with a PDSE internship at Stanford University. He is a professor at the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP). He was the president of the National Association of History - ANPUH-Brazil (2021-2023). He researches and teaches Brazilian History and Theory and History of Historiography. He is the author of several books and articles, recently publishing "A Independência Narrada: introdução à história da historiografia no Brasil" by Proprietas and "Updatism and the understanding of time and history" by Bloomsbury, co-authored with Mateus Pereira.
Graduated in History from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1999). Doctor in History from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2006) with a sandwich period at the Universite de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. He completed two post-doctoral internships at the Università di Bologna (2014-2015 and 2019). Associate Professor 3 at the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP). He is a member of the Center for Studies in the History of Historiography and Modernity (NEHM) and a permanent member of line 2 (Ideas, Languages and Historiography) of the PPGHIS/UFOP. His research interests include topics related to Intellectual History; Theory and History of 20th Century Historiography; History of the Present Time; Immediate History; Public History; Digital Historiography; Popular Historiography; Brazilian Civil-Military Dictatorship (1964-1985); Redemocratization in Brazil; Digital Humanities; History and new technologies; History and the Internet.
Doctoral student associated to the Ideas, Languages and Historiography research line of the Graduate Program in History at the Federal University of Ouro Preto with the support of CAPES, having completed a master's degree and a degree in History at the same institution. Participates in the Center for Studies in the History of Historiography and Modernity (NEHM). She is deputy editor of the area of Human and Social Sciences of the Revista Brasileira de Educação Básica, from UFMG. He is interested in the following topics: museums, virtual museums, archives, cultural memory, public history, digital history.
Walderez Ramalho holds licenciate's degree (2012) and master's degree (2015) in History from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, and a PhD (2021) in History at the Federal University of Ouro Preto. He is currently professor of Theory of History at the State University of Santa Catarina. He works mainly in the areas of Theory and Philosophy of History and History of Historiography. His research interests cover the following topics: conceptions of time, varieties of contemporary historical discourse, politics of historical time, justice and historical responsibility, uses and abuses of history, history of the present time, and the relationships between history, memory and literature. Currently, he develops research on the multiplicity of historical times and their reverberations in contemporary public discourse.
