I do not use AI in my research. I have many personal reasons for this, some of which I detail here. I also believe that traditional journals should not allow the publication of papers in which AI played a coauthor-level role, and that new venues should be established to host such papers; I argue for this point here. I encourage reading this essay of Tasmin Chu and this statement of Vladimir Lazić, and encourage anyone concerned about AI in mathematics to reach out to Max Weinreich to become involved in the organization he is founding.
