The term "paint correction" can be a little confusing. This process does not remove deep scratches. Deep scratches that have penetrated past the clear coat, paint color and primer layer down to the metal requiring the surface to be repainted to fix the scratch. Example: when your car gets 'keyed' this scratch typically reaches down to the layer of metal to expose a white color which is beyond the level of repair that a polishing process can correct.
Paint correction means that we are taking the top layer of the paint called the clear coat and leveling it off with a machine polisher and liquid compound and polish. This leveling process smooths out the ridges and defects in the clear coat. This removes oxidation, water marks, etchings from bird poop, bug guts, or tree sap etc. It improves fine scratches, swirl marks and holograms so that when light reflects off the surface it bounces evenly back to the eye and has deep color, gloss and shine.
The final result of a polishing process depends on the starting condition of the paint. If the paint has been maintained and cared for the results will be better. However if the exterior of your vehicle hasn't had regular maintenance, paint correction may not reverse all the scratching or damage but will still greatly improve the depth of color and shine.
Results are noticeably greater with black, blue, red and other dark colored vehicles, but improve the shine and gloss of all colors in general.
