Learn How To Configure ATT.net Email Settings On The iPhone?

Want to set up your ATT email account on an iPhone device? Well, to add an account on the iPhone you will have to configure ATT.net email settings on it. There are two ways to do this: Automatic and Manual. In this quick guide, we will take you through the manual method as it makes sure that the incoming and outgoing mail services are enabled.

Manual Setup of ATT email account On iPhone

Be ready with the ATT email address, username, and password to set up your account on any iOS device.

Step 1: Open the Settings window on your iPhone mobile from the list of the applications.

Step 2: Swipe up the Settings page and you will see an Add Account option. Click on it.

Step 3: Then, on the new screen, touch on the ‘Passwords & accounts' option and open its page as well.

Step 4: You will be asked what is the name of your Email Provider. Check out the list on the screen and find the name of the email provider, click on it if it is there. Otherwise, click on the ‘Other’ option.

(You can also choose Yahoo as your email provider because, at the current time, ATT is acquired by Yahoo.)

Step 5: Again click on the Add Email Account and start setting up your email account by entering the enlisted details.

  • Username

  • ATT email address

  • Password

Step 6: Enter anything about your email account in the Description box.

Step 7: Select the POP3 Server as the type of your ATT account for your Incoming and Outgoing emails.

Step 8: After that enter imap.mai.att.net as the IMAP Server Hostname and then enter your ATT email ID and password as well.

Step 9: Click on the Next button to enter the Outgoing mail setting and then enter smtp.mail.att.net as the SMTP Server Hostname. Don’t forget to write the ATT email ID and password.

Step 10: To apply the ATT.net email settings, click on the ‘Save’ button.

Step 11: Now, you will have to enter the rest of the settings such as port numbers. So, click on the Advanced Settings option on the ATT email account page.

Step 12: At first fill out the 'Incoming Server Port Number' tab with 993 and then turn on the SSL connection.

Step 13: Similarly, fill in the 'Outgoing Server Port Number' tab with 465 and again turn on the SSL connection.

Step 14: To complete the authentication process, enter the email password.

Step 15: Once you see that the ATT.net email server settings are entered properly then, click on the ‘Done’ button to finish the process.
