Get To Know Our Atrium

The children understand the Atriums to be a place of prayer, in which work and study spontaneously become meditation, contemplation and prayer.

We talk about the importance of Silence during our time in the Atrium and how Silence is a necessary means of listening to and responding to God. There is no Prayer without Silence.  In the Atriums, Silence is seen at the Prayer Table and during Presentation. Silence helps focus the child's inner calm and keeps every part of their body still, becoming a vehicle for contemplation. This helps the child to become aware of and master his or her own actions.
