This blog, "A Traveler's Tales", will be dedicated to writing about the various sites and locales of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Every other week, I will be uploading a blog post detailing my own experiences at a particular area or location. These will include such topics as going to local festivals, tourist attractions, museums, and more.
Most of my posts will follow the same basic setup: I will give some background information about the place and its people, detail my experiences while being there, and share photos of the various sights there are to take in. Additionally, if applicable, I will also share photos of purchases I made at some of the locations.
On a personal note, I think that writing about Southwestern Pennsylvania is a very important thing to do. This is simply because, at least from what I know, the state (and especially the southwest) has a bit of a distasteful reputation. That is, many people like to assume that Pennsylvania is full of nothing but uncultured, vulgar hillbillies who farm, fish, and hunt. While I completely understand why someone would make such assumptions, I do think that it is a very shortsighted view that ignores the rich culture and history that is present here.
Southwestern Pennsylvania has quite a lot to offer, and I hope to convey this idea to anyone willing to join me on my travels. Furthermore, if you find that you enjoy reading from this blog and are curious about the other ways that I write, consider checking out my other website. It is called My Dusty Old Attic, and it is dedicated to listing my poetry, fiction, and other literary works:
