ATOM's mission is to deliver clean, accessible and reliable energy in the form of hydrogen from renewable sources, accelerating decarbonization and creating positive social impact globally.
The process begins with the generation of electricity through renewable sources such as solar or wind power, this electricity is then used to power an electrolysis process, where water is split into its component parts, hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen is then stored in metal hydride vessels. These vessels have high hydrogen storage capacities and can absorb and desorb hydrogen in a reversible manner. When energy is needed, the hydrogen is released from the metal hydride vessels, through a heat exchange process. This hydrogen is then combined with oxygen in a fuel cell, generating electricity in a clean and efficient manner.
