Participants arrive in Madison.

8:00 - 10:00 PM: Evening social on campus

Saturday

8:00 - 9:00 AM: Intro with Coffee & Pastries

• Sections arrive to Tong auditorium in the Engineering Centers Building

• Coffee & Pastries are provided 

9:00 - 11:00 AM: Lab Lightning Talks

• 10-15 minute presentations from grad-students about their labs & research

11:00 - 12:30 PM: Lunch & Learn

• Catered lunch will be served

1:00 - 3:00 PM: Lab Tours

3:00 - 5:00 PM: Panels & Workshops

• Applying for Grad-School

  • Hear from graduate students about the grad-school application process & life as a grad student.

• Fusion Panel

  • Discuss fusion research with the top of the field, from their current research topics and the future of fusion.

• Fission Panel

  • Learn more about the fission research being undergone in Wisconsin, including advanced reactors, fissile material security, and novel safety systems.

• Materials Panel

  • Hear from professors advancing materials science inside nuclear reactors, from unique cladding on fuel rods to irradiating, heating, and stressing materials at the same time.

• Campus Tour

  • Walk around campus with a tour guide well versed in the lore of Madison.

• 1 on 1 Professor Talks

  • Talk 1 on 1 with professors you are interested in working with.

  • Recommended for Seniors applying for grad-school.

5:30 - 7:30 PM: Dinner

• Dinner will be provided

7:30 - 9:30 PM: Campus Scavenger Hunt

• Keeping with Midwest Meetup tradition, we will host a scavenger hunt on campus & in downtown Madison.

9:30 - 10:30 PM: End of day at the Memorial Union Terrace

• Relax with the newfound friends from across the Midwest.

Sunday

Checkout & Departure: Chapters will check out from their hotels and return home.
