SAE International is a professional association and standards development organization for the engineering industry, focusing on transportation industries such as automotive, aerospace, and commercial vehicles. The Society of Automotive Engineers was the initial name of the organization.
The association serves 138,000 individual members worldwide through major efforts involving standardization, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) promotion, professional development and certification.
