This Privacy Policy explains how the mobile application AtlasCube Remote ("the App") handles information. The App is a remote control and companion for AtlasCube internet radio devices running the AtlasCube firmware, communicating over a local network. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it.
The developer does not collect, store, or share any personal data. The App:
does not require registration or an account,
does not contain analytics or crash-reporting SDKs,
does not contain advertising SDKs,
does not track users across apps or websites,
does not send any data to the developer.
The App stores the following data only on your device, never on a remote server controlled by the developer:
Favourite radio stations and scheduled alarms (in a local Room database).
App preferences and the last selected device (in Android DataStore).
An in-app diagnostic log (kept in memory; cleared when the App is closed, or written to a file only if you explicitly export or share it).
You can erase this data at any time by clearing the App's storage or uninstalling the App.
The App makes the following types of network connections:
a) Local network (LAN) — AtlasCube devices. The App discovers AtlasCube devices on the local network via mDNS and/or accepts an IP address entered manually. It then communicates with the selected device using HTTP requests and a WebSocket connection. This traffic stays on your local network.
b) Local HTTP server for TTS alarms. When a Text-to-Speech alarm is scheduled, the App temporarily starts a small HTTP server on your phone so that the AtlasCube device can fetch and play the synthesized audio over the LAN. The server is reachable only on the local network and only while an alarm is being delivered.
c) Internet radio streams (optional — phone playback mode). If you choose to play a station directly on the phone instead of on an AtlasCube device, the App connects to the internet radio stream URL you selected. This is a direct connection between your phone and the radio station's server; the developer is not involved and receives no data. The operators of those streams may log standard request information such as your public IP address and User-Agent.
d) Google Play In-App Updates (optional). The App uses the Google Play In-App Updates API (via Google Play services) to check whether a newer version of the App is available. This communication is handled by Google Play services on your device and is governed by Google's privacy policy.
e) When you use the Calendar feature, the upcoming calendar events read from your device are sent to your AtlasCube device over your local network (HTTP) so they can be displayed on its screen. This data is transmitted only to your own device on your local network — it is never sent to the developer or any third party.
The app requests only the permissions necessary to function as a remote control. None of them are used to collect personal data.
Internet access (INTERNET) — local-network communication with AtlasCube devices and optional internet radio playback.
Foreground service — media playback (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK) — keeping internet radio playback running while the app is in the background.
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) — displaying the active media-playback foreground-service notification.
Calendar access (READ_CALENDAR) — reading upcoming events (title, date and time) from your device's calendars to display them on your AtlasCube device. Used only by the optional Calendar feature and requested only when you tap Sync; never accessed in the background and never modified.
The App does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or cloud-storage services. It relies on the following third-party components, which only process data as described above:
Google Play In-App Updates API (via Google Play services) — update checks (see Section 4d).
Android Text-to-Speech engine — converts alarm text to audio. The engine is provided by your device or by another app you have installed (e.g. Google Speech Services); the App passes the alarm text to whichever engine you have selected in Android system settings.
Internet radio servers — only when you actively start phone playback (see Section 4c).
Because the developer does not collect or store personal data, no personal information is processed or retained on the developer's side. Local data remains on your device under the protection of Android.
The developer is based in the European Union (Poland). Because the App does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on the developer's infrastructure, no GDPR-relevant processing is performed by the developer. Local data on your device is under your control and is not shared with the developer.
Because the developer does not collect personal data, there is no personal data on the developer's side that you could request access to, correction of, or deletion of. You can manage all data stored locally by the App through your phone's settings (Settings → Apps → AtlasCube Remote → Storage) or by uninstalling the App.
The App does not collect personal data from any user, including children under 13.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
