Jonathan (Jack) Eicher (He/Him/His)

B.S. Chemistry and Biology, Applied Mathematics minor, California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt (2018)

Jack uses vibrational and mechanical spectroscopy alongside traditional rheological methods to quantify phase transition behavior in intrinsically disordered tardigrade proteins. To this aim, he develops statistical tools and applies different physical models to describe transitions in easier and faster ways. Ultimately, he checks the vibes of wiggly proteins to see why they wiggle together instead of alone.

He is co-advised with Gary Pielack.
