Eyeonic | Leveraging Machine Learning in Detecting Ocular Conditions
This project envisions the detection of ocular conditions in their initial stages using machine learning to mitigate the danger of vision impairment and absolute black out.
A deep neural network (Inception ResNet) was trained using 15000 labeled retinal images to detect conditions like Diabetic Retinopathy, Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), Myopia, Cataracts, Glaucoma and Hypertension .
The model has achieved a remarkable accuracy which bypassed human limitations in detecting impairments in retinal images. Furthermore it assisted Ophthalmologist in discovery of ocular conditions prematurely and providing them with leads in diagnostics of ocular conditions.
