I have a broad range of interests within the realm of experimental physics, influenced by the recent advancements in optoelectronics and material physics. My early exposure to formal research was in the area of Radiation Physics during my Master's project. Later, I got exposure to spectroscopy and material physics which fascinated me to take up my research in the field. In my PhD, I actively started working on Quantum Dots, Energy Materials, Raman spectroscopy, and structure-property correlations. As a Postdoc,I have continued my research on exploring the novel and intriguing physical phenomena that occour in materials of technological interests mainly Halide perovskites.
Research Overview
A central theme of my research so far is enfolded on structure-property correlations in the field of energy materials, with a focus on utilizing spectroscopic techniques to elucidate the functional properties. My work aims to address fundamental questions in materials physics by combining optical and vibrational techniques with structural and microstructural characterizations. Through my research, I seek to advance scientific understanding, develop novel materials and integrate in device architectures to realize innovative technologies by keeping in mind the environmental challenges.
Current and Past Research Contributions
During my doctoral and postdoctoral work, I have made significant contributions to develop novel lead free halide perovskites and other semiconducting thin films by investigating the interplay between structural attributes with the vibrational and optoelectronic properties of the materials. I have also developed halide perovskite based cavity lasers using optical resonating phenomena. Notable achievements include:
Understanding the interplay between optical, vibrational and excitonic properties with sublattice distortions in lead free halide double perovskites
Unravelling light-matter interactions, photo-induced degradations and structural stability aspects of halide perovskites
Elucidating the halide ion migration dynamics and octahedral arrangements upon compositional tailoring by leveraging the power of Raman spectroscopy
Comprehensive and in-depth analyses of vibrational dynamics in perovskites
Demonstrating the whispering gallery microlasing and development of efficient perovskite based microlasers using resonating cavities
